Being Back in Seattle

I was expecting it to be nice to get back home. And it sort of was. Usually nice to get back to my own bed, etc. But it's cold here and my boss is stressed and grumpy, so that's not fun. I want to go back to NYC, and Morgantown.

I guess I just had such a fun, lighthearted time with you all that Seattle seems a bit lack-luster. Hope you're all doing well.

Yesterday I went to a talk on Christian Community by this guy, Steve Timmins, who started a bunch of house churches in England, called Crowded House. It was a great talk and, although I yearn for community, it was a bit overwhelming. He has a book called, "Total Church." If I pick it up, I'll give you a book review.  One thing that he said, I've been mulling over today, is that we should be a blessing to others around us; from those who cut us off in traffic to our family. We should bless and be a blessing to them. I rarely have that attitude. So convicting.

Also, came home last night and found 3 snails on my tiny dahlia. My Dahlia got quite eaten up while I was gone. Stinking snails and slugs! So I put a beer trap out. We'll see if those slime balls will go for the PBR over my plants.

Today I bought a big bag of fruit from this cheap fruit stand. I love summer fruit. I'm almost surprised I can get it in Seattle. Fruit but no summer.

It's in my new bowl from Pearl River.

So, if any of you are interested, I invited you to author this blog with me. I just thought it would be fun for us to do it together and keep in touch. We can make it so that nobody else can read it if you want. I don't expect that we'll post stuff too often but it would be cool to post a photo or a prayer request every once in a while.

I have a prayer request: That things get worked out with my boss, Mike Redmond. I have been convicted that I need to be humble and have the attitude and actions of blessing him. I really don't feel like doing this, at all. - And also, please pray that God will continue to provide steady work.

Well, I really count it as a gift that we could all hang out in NYC and have so much fun together. I'm so glad that we still know each other and are friends. Hope you guys can post a bit here but if you're busy that's fine too. I'm not a prolific blogger myself.

My door is orange now. My landlords have painted the house.
